China Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry (RIDCI), formerly founded in 1930 as the Central Industrial Laboratory, is the earliest professional institution engaged in the research and development of surfactants and detergents, and the only national scientific research institution in the industry and the most complete research institution in the fields of surfactant and detergent in China. After 90 years of development, RIDCI has developed into a modern scientific and technological enterprise integrating scientific research and engineering technology development, analysis- testing methods and standardization produce, information and market investigation, engineering design and consultation, industrialization demonstration and postgraduate training.

The main business of the Institute is scientific and technological development in surfactant and detergent industry, high-value services, technology transfer, analysis and testing, cosmetic efficacy evalsuation. As the main source of major key technologies of Chinese surfactant industry, more than half of the industrial technologies for the prime surfactants in China are derived from the scientific research achievements of RIDCI. Several green surfactants’ technology has achieved international advanced level. Relying on daily chemical core raw materials, formula technology, standard formulation, efficacy evalsuation advantages, RIDCI developed a series of cosmetics, skin care products, household antibacterial cleaning products, leading the new trends of life beautification by clean technology.

Introduction of product series:
Solvent-free super concentrated liquid detergent.   Solvent-free super concentrated liquid detergent is a green liquid detergent with more than 65% of active ingredients and without organic solvents. A new vegetable oil based surfactant, which has much lower freezing point than most of commercial ones and shows no viscous gel phase in aqueous solution in an extensive range of concentration, is added to help improve the performance of other ingredients and to provide the product with better performance at low-temperature such as smooth preparation procedure, good stability and solubility as well as easy use.
Alkyl Polyglycosides(APG)   As a green surfactant derived from renewable vegetable raw material, APG is non-toxic, non-irritating and excellently ecological compatible. It is widely used in personal care and household detergent, especially in the cosmetics designed for pregnant and baby. In addition, APG has good solubility, permeability and compatibility in highly-concentrated strong alkali/electrolyte solution, has no corrosion on various materials and no residual after washing.
Alcohol Ether Carboxylate(AEC)   The alcohol ether carboxylate (AEC) with molecular formula of R-(CH2CH2O)nOCH2COOX(H), is a new functional an-nonionic surfactant developed during the research of 9th Five-Year National Science and Technology Plan. AEC has excellent solubility in water and extremely strong ability of calcium soap dispersion.
Quaternary Ammonium Salt Products   Both DEQ series and GC series are prepared by a green and environmentally friendly process, avoiding the use of highly toxic quaternization agents - methyl chloride and dimethyl sulfate. DEQ and GC have such excellent performance as bactericidal/antibacterial properties, good compatibility with other bactericides, good solubility in water, light and thermal stability.
Modified oil ethoxylates - SOE   SOE is series of non-ionic surfactant manufactured by single one-step ethoxylation reaction using natural oil as raw material. This production process saves 50% of total energy by removing two energy consumption steps - oil hydrolyzation and hydrogenation. SOE shows excellent performance such as good surface activity, mildness, no irritation to skin and eyes, low foam and easy rinse.
